Poetry

Poetry is more
It is the insistence of cold sweat
It is, put simply
the beat of my soul

Seven Sea Views

1.
I have never seen
A crow at sea
Only wheeling figures
Above the water
In all their shades of grey

2.
We climb
A river charged
Through crowds of fern
Observe the sea
Glinting like a promised land
At every clearing

3.
And chance
The turbulence of shores,
While seas hold fast
A line, unwavering
Against horizons

4.
Bury yourself
In my rippled floors
I am in league
With tenacious moons
Whose flux I`ll wager
Will unearth you

5.
How impossible
Your boats
Their undersides haloed
By sinking light
My soft ecstatic lungs
Submariners caw

6.
Our tea mist swirls
Hushed song
Through strands of Malaleuca
This wool on wet skin
Still the taste
Of water

7.
We spill
Into the sea
As rivers stretched and strifed
 "You seem to me
  familiar, friend
  I think I knew your
  other life"
